Al Sharpton, never one to stand idly by when political messaging is to be made, is going to use his National Action Network to take on the incoming White House.
His goal? To thwart the Donald Trump administration every which way he can, apparently.
And he’s starting with the Donald’s Cabinet nominations – or one, in particular, it seems.
“Sharpton promised a ‘season of civil disobedience’ in reaction to the nomination of Sen. Jeff Sessions for attorney general in the Trump administration,” PJ Media reported.
Sharpton, who also hosts on MSNBC, said he knows plenty of activists who are planning to march on Washington during the Martin Luther King Jr. day off on January 14.
Hmm, Sharpton stirring up protests … what’s new? That’s very nearly a yawner.
But he seems pretty committed to the cause of booting Sessions from his nomination spot. In fact, Sharpton said his activist friends are going to keep it up for more than one day.
“We’re not just doing this to be doing it,” he said, PJ Media reported. “We do it because it can lead to change and, believe me, there will be a season of civil disobedience particularly around the Sessions nomination.”
Wow. So let me get this straight: If President-elect Trump doesn’t decide to drop Sessions as the attorney general and pick someone who, in Sharpton’s mind, better represents the will and rule of law and order, then Sharpton-minded activists around the country are going to take to the streets to protest? Gosh, what a threat. Or, perhaps it would be – if Sharpton-minded protesters hadn’t already been taking to the streets for months, nay years now. They’re called Black Lives Matter movers and shakers. Or the Hands Up, Don’t Shoot crowd. In other words, it really doesn’t matter who Trump picks for his administration, or what he does once in the White House. The left is going to protest anyway, just as they’ve been protesting in the streets for the last couple years.
