While it was painfully obvious that Obama did everything he could do to destroy the very idea of national borders, now that Trump is president, we’re finding out just how bad enforcement really was under the former president.
It’s bad enough that illegals from Central America invade the US and violate our sovereignty, but it’s even worse when it’s Muslims using our southern border to sneak their way in.
As reported at the Conservative Tribune, a recent case highlights just how dangerous lax border enforcement was for the past 8 years.
Recently, a Pakistani national pled guilty in a District of Columbia federal court to a charge of smuggling illegal aliens from Pakistan and other countries into the US.
Sharafat Ali Khan, a 32-year-old citizen of Pakistan and former Brazilian resident was found guilty on one count of conspiracy to smuggle undocumented migrants into the United States for profit.
Khan was a member of a complex human smuggling network that moves illegal immigrants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and other countries through Brazil to Central American and Mexico before finally crossing the borders into the US.
Apparently, the people being smuggled were forced to live in very harsh condition, as the trip could take up to nine months to make.
Kahn received between $3,000 and $15,000 per immigrant as a fee for conducting the smuggling operation.
While court documents didn’t state it as fact, it’s likely that Khan was working closely with Mexican drug cartels to pull off the scheme.
The convicted Khan now faces a sentencing hearing on July 6, 2017.
The penalty will likely be between 2 and five years in prison and a fine of up to $150,000.
Seems like a pretty light sentence for someone as deplorable as a human smuggler.
Especially considering all the danger he put the US in by smuggling potentially radical Muslims into the US undetected.
Who knows how many other people like Khan there are, smuggling in folks from all over the Middle East.
ISIS and other radical Muslim groups have declared they will take advantage of the US refugee program as well as the porous border.
This is why border enforcement is so important.
Not only because the basic principle of national sovereignty, but because it will help keep America safe and protect native workers.
Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration is long overdue and will do nothing benefit America.
