The quality of our members of Congress has been on a steep decline for quite a while.
There’s just far too many unqualified clowns running amok with the power to control our lives.
This is especially true for the Democratic Party, which is inundated with morons from top to bottom. People like Pelosi and Waters can barely string together a coherent sentence.
Then you have Warren, a make-believe Native American.
Then there’s the former “comedian” Al Franken, who’s seen his stock rise since the election of Trump. The nation’s certainly in trouble when you have people like these being taken seriously.
On the issue of Franken, he’s a leading voice in the Democrat’s war against the Trump administration, but at a recent committee hearing, his attempts to smear Attorney General Jeff Sessions failed in spectacular fashion.
As reported at Western Journalism, while testifying before the Senate Intelligence Committee Tuesday, Sessions called any allegations he colluded with associates of the Russian government during the 2016 presidential election “an appalling and detestable lie.”
Sessions went on the offensive during his testimony, making Franken one of his prime targets. He called the former SNL member out after he cited a fake news report from CNN that came out the same day which claimed “there was a continuing exchange of information during the campaign between Trump’s surrogates and intermediaries for the Russian government.”
Franken asked Sessions what he would do as AG if the report turned out to be true.
Sessions replied, “Senator Franken, I’m not aware of any of those activities. I have been called a surrogate a time or two in that campaign and I did not have communications with the Russians and I’m unable to comment on it.”
“I was taken aback by that explosive allegation which he said was being reported as breaking news that very day, in which I had not heard,” Sessions said.
“I wanted to refute that immediately. Any suggestion that I was part of such an activity.”
Since the hearing, the Left has tried to claim that Sessions lied because he didn’t specifically mention his meetings with Russian officials, but the AG dismissed those concerns.
“It simply did not occur to me to go further than the context and to list any conversations that I may have had with Russians in routine situations as I had many routine meetings with other foreign officials,” Sessions said.
Liberals thought they could do damage control after their attempts to catch Sessions off guard failed, by claiming he lied about meeting with Russian officials.
But the reality is, as Sessions said, those meetings are part of his duty as Attorney General. And conflating those with some kind of secret conspiracy meeting is insane.
All this shows is how desperate the Left to make their Russia narrative seem true.
They have zero evidence of collusion of any kind, so they’re trying to deceive the public by acting like routine meetings between government officials counts as collusion.
Pretty soon they’ll start saying that Trump and Putin being in the same room at a UN meeting is evidence they’re colluding together.
This left-wing nonsense just keeps getting more and more delusional, and it appears there’s no end in sight. But with folks like Sessions running the show, we finally have some conservatives with the courage to fight back.
