President-elect held a news conference, and it got very interesting when it came time to answer questions from the press.
Trump took on a story that was being passed around that had not been verified, calling the outlets, including CNN, a “failing piece of garbage.” The story kept getting more bazaar the more it was reported, and Trump was fuming by the time he got behind the mic at his news conference.
While Trump was trying to call on reporters to ask questions, Jim Acosta of CNN shouted, “Since you are attacking us, can you give us a question?” That’s when things got ugly.
Trump hit back with “Not you,” Trump said. “Your organization is terrible!” But not having sense enough not to press Trump, he asked, “You are attacking our news organization, can you give us a chance to ask a question, sir?” Trump scolded him with “don’t be rude”.
Oh, it’s not over! Trump continued, “I’m not going to give you a question,” continuing with “You are fake news!” Acosta had the lame comeback of “Now, Mr. President-elect, that’s not appropriate!”
Watch the entire exchange here:
Obviously, Donald Trump didn’t care about what he thought was appropriate when he had been so embarrassingly portrayed as a real creep by CNN and a few other news outlets, with them not even taking the time to verify whether the story was true before reporting it as news. You can’t blame Trump for being angry about it, but now the news outlets that reported the ‘fake news’ story are going to have a difficult time getting any answers to burning questions to report the news to their audiences – at least from Trump. His press conferences are going to be must-see TV going forward, that’s for sure, and it will be interesting to see what CNN does next to try to recover from this humiliating mess they created.
