One of the many things the Left is good at is wasting money.
Liberals are allergic to thrifty spending, and our $20 trillion national debt is more than proof enough.
So it should come as no surprise to find out that a leftist Congressional organization spends lavishly on things it’s not supposed to.
As reported at the Angry Patriot, the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) has been caught wasting money on expensive hotels and restaurants, Broadway shows, and just about every other thing you can imagine.
The CBC claims its mission is to increase “the number of African Americans in the U.S. Congress” and to “support non-Black candidates that champion our interests, and promote African American participation in the political process-with an emphasis on young voters,” according to its website.
But it appears that they would rather spend the money on themselves, rather than potential candidates or folks that might actually pursue their mission.
The CBC’s PAC spent hundreds of thousands during the 2016 election cycle on administrative expenses that included bills for lavish trips that were paid by the committee.
The Washington Free Beacon highlighted many of the ways the CBC wastes money.
“Another favorite of the PAC, the St. Regis Hotel in Washington, D.C., that “plays home to dignitaries, royalties, and refined travelers alike,” received more than $18,000 in payments from the committee.”
Out of all the funds they spent during the election cycle, only $91,000 went to federal candidates while $283,100 went to administrative expenses.
It would seem they aren’t living up to their sacred mission statement, as that’s nowhere near enough to help any candidate reach office at the federal level.
But hey, conservatives should applaud such wasteful spending because it’s their money and it’s not being effectively used to get left-wing candidates elected.
So keep enjoying those luxury resorts and fancy restaurants. This is an area where liberal wastefulness is good for America.
