The election of Donald Trump has sent shockwaves throughout the world and dramatically altered the political landscape. In the US, the effects are already being felt, as businesses are already lining up to invest in the country, despite the fact Trump has yet to take office.
Years of failed policy under Obama has led to anemic economic conditions and stagnating wages. The people have been begging the folks in Washington to pass sensible policy that will bring back jobs and make possible the fading American dream. Trump was listening, and so were businesses around the world when he declared he would fight to protect America’s economic interests above all others.
This has led to a flurry of announcements concerning job creation. Softbank, Carrier, Sprint, Ford, IBM, Apple, Alibaba, etc. have all pledged to invest and create new jobs and/or bring back ones they had previously shipped overseas.
As reported at Right Wing News, there is another name that should be added to the list, and that is Fiat Chrysler. The company recently announced it will invest $1 billion in automotive jobs in the US. Fiat’s statement read:
“Consistent and combined with previously announced investments, FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automotive) US is further demonstrating its commitment to strengthening its U.S. manufacturing base, and aligning U.S. capacity to extend the Jeep product lineup. In total, FCA US has committed investments of more than $9.6 billion in its U.S. manufacturing facilities and created 25,000 new jobs to date since 2009.”
Sergio Marchionne chief executive of FCA, added the following:
“The reality is the Mexican automotive industry has now for a number of years been tooled-up to try and deal with the U.S. market. If the U.S. market were not to be there, the reasons for its existence are on the line.”
Trump tweeted about the decision saying, ”
It’s finally happening – Fiat Chrysler just announced plans to invest $1BILLION in Michigan and Ohio plants, adding 2000 jobs. This after Ford said last week that it will expand in Michigan and U.S. instead of building a BILLION dollar plant in Mexico. Thank you Ford & Fiat C!“
Obama has failed the American people again and again, as he capitulated and refused to fight for jobs on every occasion. He even called Trump’s campaign promises to bring back jobs to the Midwest impossible and has admitted he would not even know how to negotiate such plan. The failure-in-chief has been out of his depth since day one. Combine his lack of experience and prowess with his utter disdain for middle America, and you get the pitiful economic reality we are suffering in. Trump will undo Obama’s disastrous legacy and show that if you fight for it, America can be made great again.
