Tensions have risen with Obama’s continual accusations that Russia hacked DNC computers to help Donald Trump triumph over Hillary Clinton in the presidential election.
Julian Assange of WikiLeaks has vigorously denied that the Russia was the source of the leaked emails.
After Obama expelled 35 Russian diplomats last week in retaliation to the leaked documents, even though there has still been no proof that Russia was to blame, Putin has stated he will wait until Trump takes office before he worries much.
Since Obama didn’t get a rise out of Putin as he expected, his latest move is intense.
From Joe For America, Obama has deployed US Special Forces troops to Lithuania’s border with Russia as tensions between Washington and the Kremlin reach Cold War levels.
It all occurs amid reports Vladimir Putin is building up a nuclear arsenal in the Russian province of Kaliningrad, which borders Poland, Belarus, and Lithuania.
Lithuanian Defense Ministry spokeswoman Asta Galdikaite confirmed that America has offered additional military support.
She added, “US Special Forces presence in Lithuania is one of the deterrents” against military threats by Putin’s aggressive regime, reports the Express.
General Raymond T. Thomas stated that US troops have a ‘persistent’ presence in the Baltic states and we are developing close ties to countries that border Russia.
With only 17 days left until Donald Trump takes the reins, we can only hope that Obama doesn’t get us in another war before then.
